codes.gifThe Pattonville Fire Protection District has adopted the 2003 International Fire Code, 2003 International Building Code, 2003 International Residential Code, with revisions outlined in Pattonville Fire Protection District ordinance. Permits

Permits are required for:

  • Commercial building construction, addition or remodel
  • Residential building construction, addition or remodel
  • Finish a lower level
  • Fireplace installation
  • Fire alarm systems
  • Fire suppression systems
  • Cooking hood suppression
  • Cooking hood
  • Special agent extinguishing systems
  • Fireworks or proximate pyrotechnics display
  • Storage rack installation 12 feet or taller, same as commercial fees
  • Installation of AST's & UST's, & removal of underground storage tanks
  • Paint booths

We do NOT issue permits for open burning or blasting. Burn permits may be obtained through St. Louis County Department of Health. The Pattonville Fire Protection District requires notification of open burning. Blasting permits are handled through St. Louis County Government.

Investigations

The Pattonville Fire Protection District has certified investigators assigned to determine the origin and cause of fires and explosions, whether accidental or incendiary, in order to lessen injuries and death to civilians and firefighters and to reduce property loss.

Investigators’ responsibilities include fire scene investigation and documentation and follow-up procedures to determine the facts and the nature of the incident. When the case involves arson, the investigators will work with the St. Louis County Police Arson and Explosives Unit, the Missouri State Fire Marshal, the FBI and BATFE in order to complete a thorough investigation.
