Four lucky students got to ride to school in a fire truck this morning as a reward for outstanding schoolwork at Rose Acres Elementary school. The program called "Amazing Blazing Kids" is a joint program between Pattonville Fire and School districts. The students were picked up at their homes and delivered to school with excited classmates waiting.
The Pattonville Fire District is pleased to announce the in-service of a 2010 Pierce PUC HAL 75 ft. aluminum ladder Quint apparatus.
Pattonville firefighters are accustom to waking up early in the morning but on September 9th they woke up to honor America's Greatest Generation. Firefighters escorted 80 WWII veterans to their flight at Lambert airport as they went to Washington D. C. as part of Honor Flight. Honor Flight is an organization that takes WWII Veterans to Washington D. C. to visit the WWII memorial and other national monuments. Several of these hero's are disabled and needed help getting through airport security and to their flight. That is where Pattonville's finest helped out. Off Duty Firefighters met the bus from Columbia Missouri at 0500 and got these hero's on their way. Pattonville Firefighters will continue to help with honor flight as long as help is needed.
