Santa program a huge success

Pattonville_Santa_013.JPGChristmas season in Pattonville would not be the same without the Fire District bringing Santa down the streets of Bridgeton and Maryland Heights.  We are pleased to announce that the Santa program was a great success.  Some inclement weather caused Kris Kringle to reschedule a few of his visits to some weekend days but he made it to all fire district streets taking wishes of christmas for young and old alike.

Firefighters honor the Greatest Generation

honor_guard_barney.jpgPattonville firefighters are accustom to waking up early in the morning but on September 9th they woke up to honor America's Greatest Generation.  Firefighters escorted 80 WWII veterans to their flight at Lambert airport as they went to Washington D. C. as part of Honor Flight.  Honor Flight is an organization that takes WWII Veterans to Washington D. C.  to visit the WWII memorial and other national monuments.  Several of these hero's are disabled and needed help getting through airport security and to their flight.  That is where Pattonville's finest helped out.  Off Duty Firefighters met the bus from Columbia Missouri at 0500 and got these hero's on their way.  Pattonville Firefighters will continue to help with honor flight as long as help is needed.  For more information about honor flight please visit www.honorflight.org

Firefighters participate in Back to School JAM

back_to_school_jam.jpgPattonville firefighters put on their dancing shoes when they both help host and participate in the Back to School Jam at Bridgeway elementary school.  Firefighters cooked over 300 hot dogs and talked with the returning students about safety and the upcoming school year.  The annual event was moved in the gym due to bad weather but that did not dampen the mood as Firefighters danced with the kids until the party was over.
